Martial Arts Welfare Association

Terms & Conditions

MWA Karate Classes — student learning app & physical coaching centre. These terms govern your use of the app, the website and our classes.

Effective date: 3 October 2026 Last updated: 3 October 2026 Applies to: the MWA Karate Classes mobile app, website and coaching centres Support email: info@martialartswelfareassociation.com

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, signing in to, or otherwise using the MWA Karate Classes app or website, or by enrolling at one of our coaching centres, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and by our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the app or the service. Continued use after an update to these terms means you accept the revised terms.

2. Who we are

“MWA”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Martial Arts Welfare Association, the operator of the MWA Karate Classes app, website and physical coaching centres. “You” means the person using the app — a student, parent/guardian, instructor, administrator or visitor.

Questions about these terms: info@martialartswelfareassociation.com.

3. Accounts & registration

  • You must provide true, accurate and complete information (name, email, phone, and any other details requested at sign-up).
  • One account per person. Do not share, sell or transfer your account or your user code (e.g. STU001).
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@martialartswelfareassociation.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • Sign-in uses a user code, email or phone number plus a password, and may be protected by a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered contact detail.
  • We may suspend or reject registrations that are incomplete, fraudulent, duplicate, or that we reasonably believe are not genuine.
  • Accounts are provisioned with a role — student, instructor or admin — that determines what data and features you can access. Access beyond your role is prohibited.

4. Minors & guardians

Students under 18 must be enrolled by, or with the consent of, a parent or legal guardian. By enrolling a minor, the guardian agrees to these terms on the minor’s behalf and accepts responsibility for the minor’s use of the app.

  • Guardians are responsible for the accuracy of a minor’s profile information (including date of birth and any medical note relevant to training).
  • Guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a minor’s data at any time by contacting us.

5. The service

The app provides learning and academy-management features, including:

  • karate courses and curriculum modules with training videos;
  • belt journey, progress tracking and module completion;
  • class batches, attendance and student reports;
  • fee structure and receipts (the app records fees — it never takes money);
  • notifications, banners, announcements and support tickets;
  • instructor and admin tools for running the coaching centre.

We may add, change or remove features, content or class schedules from time to time to improve the service. We do not guarantee that any particular lesson, feature or video will remain available indefinitely.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app for any unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purpose;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age or affiliation;
  • share your login, OTP or account with anyone else;
  • access, or attempt to access, data belonging to other students, instructors or the academy (including any data outside your assigned role);
  • interfere with or disrupt the app, its servers, or any connected systems (no hacking, scraping, probing, introducing malware, or excessive automated requests);
  • copy, redistribute, resell, broadcast or re-upload any lesson video, image or curriculum material;
  • record, screen-grab or download class videos for sharing outside the app;
  • upload content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, obscene, defamatory or that infringes others’ rights;
  • use the app to send spam, chain messages or unsolicited promotions;
  • circumvent, disable or probe security, rate-limiting or access-control features;
  • use the service to train any machine-learning or AI model, or to build a competing dataset, without our prior written consent;
  • remove copyright, trademark or attribution notices from content.

We may report unlawful conduct to the relevant authorities and cooperate with investigations.

7. Your content

  • You retain ownership of content you submit (profile photo, support-ticket text, notes, feedback).
  • You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and process that content solely to operate and improve the service (for example: showing your photo in attendance sheets, or quoting your ticket in a reply).
  • You confirm that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.
  • We may remove content that violates these terms or that we reasonably consider inappropriate.

8. Classes, attendance & safety

  • Physical training is undertaken at your own (or your minor child’s) own risk. You confirm you are medically fit to participate, or that a guardian has approved participation.
  • Tell your instructor about any injury, illness or medical condition that could affect training. We are not medical practitioners and do not provide medical advice.
  • Follow instructor directions, the centre’s safety rules, dress/gear requirements and the academy’s code of conduct. Instructors may refuse participation in a session for safety reasons.
  • Attendance, belt promotions, progress and status (active / inactive / completed / paused) are recorded in the app and may be viewed by your instructors and academy administrators.
  • Schedules, venues, instructors and class timings may change; we will communicate changes through the app or your registered contact details.
  • Fees are charged per the fee structure shown in the app or communicated at the centre; enrolment does not guarantee a promotion in rank — belt promotion is at the instructor’s discretion based on skill and attendance.

9. Fees, receipts & refunds

The app does not take payments. There is no payment gateway, checkout, card form or wallet in the app, and no money passes through us or our servers. You pay the coaching centre directly; the app only stores the receipt afterwards.
  • How to pay: cash at the centre, or a transfer you make yourself from your own UPI / QR / banking app, or a bank transfer — directly between you and the centre. Fees are payable in advance for the billing period shown (typically monthly).
  • What the app does: records the payment details you or your instructor enter (period, amount, method, notes) and issues a receipt number. It is a record of an offline payment, not a transaction processed by us.
  • We never ask for and never receive your card number, CVV, net-banking password or UPI PIN — the app has no payment form of any kind.
  • A fee is considered settled only when a receipt number has been issued in the app (or an official printed receipt is given at the centre).
  • You are responsible for paying on time. Arrears may lead to suspension of app access and/or class participation until settled.
  • If a payment you recorded was not actually made, or was made twice, contact us with the receipt details and we will correct the record.
  • Refunds: fees already paid to the centre are refundable only where required by applicable consumer law or where we expressly agree in writing (for example, a class cancelled by us for which no replacement was provided). Unused periods are generally non-refundable, and administrative charges may apply. Because the app never handles money, any refund is returned by the centre using the same method you paid with.
  • We may revise the fee structure with advance notice through the app or at the centre; changes apply from the next billing cycle unless required otherwise by law.

10. Intellectual property

  • The app, website, logo, brand name, course structure, belt curriculum, lesson videos, images, text, graphics and software are owned by or licensed to Martial Arts Welfare Association and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
  • We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the content for your own personal training and learning — nothing more.
  • “MWA”, “MWA Karate Classes” and associated logos and marks may not be used without our prior written permission.
  • Feedback you send us may be used to improve the service without obligation to you.

11. Third-party services

The service relies on third parties for hosting, push notifications, email delivery and media storage, and may link out to external apps or sites (maps, social pages, or the UPI/banking app you choose yourself to pay the centre). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

12. Suspension & termination

  • You may stop using the app at any time and may request account deletion by emailing info@martialartswelfareassociation.com.
  • We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access if you breach these terms, provide false information, engage in misconduct, remain unpaid, or if required to protect the service, other users or the academy.
  • Where a breach is curable, we will normally give you notice and a reasonable chance to fix it.
  • On termination, your right to use the app ends. Records we must keep for legal, accounting or fee-history purposes are retained and restricted to those purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Provisions concerning intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.

13. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The app and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, and we do not warrant any particular training outcome, belt rank or fitness result.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service; and
  • our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to us for the service in the three (3) months before the claim arose (or ₹1,000 if you have paid nothing).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death/personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Martial Arts Welfare Association, its founders, instructors, staff and volunteers against any claim, demand, loss, damage or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

15. Governing law & disputes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
  • Before starting any legal action, please contact us first — most concerns are resolved quickly by email at info@martialartswelfareassociation.com.
  • If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located at the registered place of business of Martial Arts Welfare Association.
  • If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force, and the unenforceable provision is applied to the maximum extent permitted.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

16. Changes to the terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Your continued use of the app or the centre after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms; if you do not agree, stop using the service and request account deletion.
